Yuan Digital Currency of China

Cryptocurrency lottery in China

In June the Beijing authorities will distribute the central bank's digital currency among the population. Lottery winners will receive 200 digital yuans each or about $ 30 per person. In total the authorities will distribute tokens to approximately 200,000 residents.

The distribution takes place as part of the testing of the state cryptocurrency. For Beijing this is the second lottery. In February, the administration raffled off 10 million digital yuan among residents. Other cities also took part in the tests. At the same time the Hong Kong authorities are negotiating with mainland China to expand the testing of the digital yuan in cross-border transactions.
